Thus, the Association of Spanish Footballers organised a debate on the subject, of which the\u00a0<em><strong>DGOJ<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0participated.<\/p>\n<p>The event \u201cfraud and match-fixing\u201d took place on November 28 and focused on the development of transparency in the industry in Spain. The DGOJ Director Juan Esponosa, said that the regulator works on prevention, detection and, where appropriate, collaboration in the pursuit of such behaviours that affect sports and gambling.<\/p>\n<p>Espinosa also stressed that the development of a regulated and fully controlled betting market, in which all transactions can be traced, is a guarantee of protection to the consumer in particular and public order in general.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the DGOJ, events on responsible gambling began with a debate on \u201cProposals for greater protection against gambling.\u201d He said that it was attended by different experts from the health, educational and academic area.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, at the \u201cTools for preventing gambling addiction for the practice of responsible gaming\u201d, the Deputy Director General of Management and Institutional Relations of the DGOJ, Susana Campuzano, presented some of the latest measures developed or under development by the DGOJ. For example, the phishing alert service as well as different initiatives underway as a result of the Responsible Gaming Work Program.<\/p>\n<p>Gross gaming revenue (GGR) in Spain totalled \u20ac191 million in the\u00a0<em><strong>third quarter<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0of the year. These results represent a 5% increase when compared to the same period in 2018 and a 7% rise from the second quarter of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>All segments increased their revenues from the previous quarter, with the exception of casinos, which registered a 4% decline from Q2 but 9% up from a year before. Of the total GGR in the third quarter, betting accounted for 53%, casino 35%, poker 11% and bingo 2%.<\/p>\n<p>Betting revenue registered a 17% rise when compared to the second quarter and 3% from 2018. Bingo posted a 5% rise in Q2 and a 1% increase from 2018.
