{"id":276,"date":"2019-07-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gbc.ng\/svenska-spel-monitoring-all-leagues-following-betting-market-suspension\/"},"modified":"2019-07-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-30T00:00:00","slug":"svenska-spel-monitoring-all-leagues-following-betting-market-suspension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gbc.ng\/index.php\/svenska-spel-monitoring-all-leagues-following-betting-market-suspension\/","title":{"rendered":"SVENSKA SPEL \u2018MONITORING ALL LEAGUES\u2019 FOLLOWING BETTING MARKET SUSPENSION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the confirmation that it had suspended all betting markets relating to the\u00a0<strong>Division 2 S\u00f6dra Svealand<\/strong>\u00a0football league,\u00a0<strong>Svenska Spel<\/strong>\u00a0has revealed that it now \u2018does not see any other solution\u2019 to crack down on match-fixing other than to stop offering betting on said league.<\/p>\n<p>A number of integrity monitoring bodies have estimated that \u2018as many as 13\u2019 matches are suspected to have been influenced by gambling activity, with\u00a0<strong>Spelinspektionen<\/strong>\u00a0calling for a blanket ban on offering odds on the league for all licensees in the market.<\/p>\n<p>PR lead at Svenska Spel,\u00a0<strong>Linn\u00e9a Hedberg<\/strong>, commented: \u201cSvenska Spel is monitoring these leagues in the same way as we do with all leagues we offer betting upon. We act on the basis of a precautionary principle, look for deviating odds movements and stop offering betting in case there are strong evidence of match fixing. We also do not offer betting upon events that are easier to manipulate such as next corner or yellow card.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith so many suspected games that the integrity of a whole league is to be question Svenska Spel does not see any other solution than to stop offering betting upon Division 2 S\u00f6dra Svealand.
