Despite these results, online casinos set a record last month.<\/p>\n<p>The year-on-year decline represents approximately \u20ac26 million less than January 2018, as during that month the regulator registered \u20ac150.5 million in sports betting revenue. ADM estimates that the decline comes from the winter break in Italy\u2019s Serie A football league.<\/p>\n<p>Retail betting earnings also experienced a shaky January: the market generated \u20ac66 million in revenue, or a 26% fall when compared to January 2018.<\/p>\n<p>While sports betting and retail betting suffered losses in January, online casinos set a revenue record as they totalled \u20ac72 million in January, an increase of 20.5% year-on-yeaar.
